TBEX Summit America 2024 Pre-BEX Tours are closed
Pre-BEX Tours:
- Only registered conference attendees can sign up for a Pre-BEX Tour.
- Pre-BEX Tours are open to both Content Creators and Industry Professionals and are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis. No guests, companions, or plus-ones are permitted unless they, too, are registered. There are no waitlists once a tour becomes full.
- Please sign up with the same email address used when you registered for TBEX Summit America 2024. You must be 18 years of age or older to participate in TBEX activities.
- If you need to cancel any Pre-BEX Tour you have signed up for at any time before the event for any reason PLEASE email imme@tbexcon.com ASAP to do so. Others can then take your cancelled spot(s). Thank you for your understanding and cooperation with this.
- Occasionally a Pre-BEX tour has to be cancelled, re-scheduled, or altered. You will be advised if this happens, and we appreciate your understanding.
- Many tours are offered on multiple days to best fit your preferred conference and travel schedule.

#1 Walk on Frozen Water
Blue Ice and crampons, are you ready to walk on a glacier and peer into a crevasse? Exciting! This is a tour for those seeking adventure with a lot of Alaska history. Your daylong experience will start with a scenic drive north with magnificent views of the Chugach and Talkeetna mountain ranges and include photo stops with interesting history and geology of this stunning area taught along the way. Your local guide will assist you in donning ice cleats and a helmet before heading out on the glacier’s icy surface to begin the explorations. You will cover up to three miles of terrain as your guide explains in detail the origins of these rivers of ice and point out the ever-changing ice formations that dominate the landscape. After your hike, enjoy lunch at a local eatery with plenty of time to relax and share stories of your day spent on the glacier.

#2 Angle of Light, Photographic Journey
Learn from a photo expert how to capture the unique angle of Arctic light in our golden season. Sneak away to the secret places and hidden gems in and around Anchorage to capture landscapes, wildlife & autumnal beauty of the fall season. Smart phone, video camera or long lens enthusiasts will find plenty of subjects to explore in this outing. Your itinerary includes Turnagain Arm, Chugach National Forest, and Chugach State Park, with the opportunity to photograph mountain streams, waterfalls, coastal mudflats, glaciers, and both the Chugach and Kenai mountains. Wildlife opportunities may include bears, moose, Dall sheep, Bald eagles, and Beluga whales. Throughout the tour, you’ll be offered creative and technical support by your Alaska Photo Treks guide where the objective is to take you off the beaten path to explore unique locations that provide great photo opportunities.

#5 Coastal Cruise Bike Tour
This Coastal Cruise Bike Tour allows you to experience the wild side of Alaska’s largest city on a leisurely 9.5-mile guided ride. Cycling through the urban wilderness of Anchorage’s largest municipal park, through wooded hills, past Cold War missile bunkers, by visual and lasting devastation from the 1964 Earthquake at Earthquake Park, and ending at Westchester Lagoon, a waterfowl sanctuary. This bike ride takes place along the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail, a paved path that winds through the forested hills nestled along the Cook Inlet. All along the way, keep your eyes peeled for wild moose!

#6 Sailing the In-land Seas
Travel south along the Turnagain Arm tunneling through the Chugach Mountains arriving in the gateway to Prince William Sound and discover how different Whittier is from any other town in the rest of Alaska! Once on board the landing craft boats, ply the calm glacier waters of this inland sea protected by barrier islands, jeweled with both cliff hanging and tide water walls of ice, while learning some history about the area. These majestic waters are also home to Stellar Sea Lions, Orca, rafts of Sea Otters, and sea birds rookeries and so much more.

#7 Down the Golden Dirt Road
Explore Alaska backcountry and take in amazing views of the Talkeetna Mountain Range in brand-new heated & enclosed UTVs. Start from a unique “castle” in the beginning strip of Hatcher Pass, splash in running creek beds, sling some mud and head to the top of a mountain pass to enjoy panoramic views and pan for gold. Blueberries abound, crisp mountain streams flow and bears can be found to roam. Have fun driving brand new UTVs, learn about cool Alaska history and adventure in the mountains!

#8 Must Love Dogs
Meet a musher, hold a puppy or two, step into the life of a dog musher and experience the power of a team of huskies in a remote community in Alaska. There are many Alaskans across the state living remotely with a team of their own husky pals, running their teams on local trails to keep them in racing trim. It isn’t a hobby but an all-encompassing lifestyle if they want to compete and it needs to be an obsession if they want to win. You will drive north to the Matanuska Valley, a region home to many Iditarod racing teams. This tour is an ATV led Dog Sled OR a Musher-made summer race cart.

#10 Glaciers and Streams by ATV
Not everyone living in Alaska owns an All Terrain Vehicle but they definitely know someone who does. In some communities it is the primary transportation option. This tour of Alaska, just north of Anchorage, is a perfect introductory ATV course that takes you on a thrilling trail ride to view the glassy castles of Alaska’s glaciers and witness rare wildlife among the grand scenery of the country. You will receive an ATV orientation from our local Alaska guides and ATV experts so that you’ll feel confident operating the versatile equipment and safely enjoy all of the trails and backcountry exploring.

#12 Scenic Turnagain Arm Tour
Drive south along the Turnagain Arm to one of Alaska’s most scenic highways skirting the shore where the Chugach Range plunges into the sea to the North, and the Kenai Range hems in this tidal waterway to the South. Dall Sheep frolic the steep slopes above and Beluga Whale cavort in the waves below. There will be breathtaking pitstops for photography along the way, arriving to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, a sanctuary that maintains over 200 acres of spacious habitats for resident animals to feel
at home displaying their natural wild behavior as education ambassadors for their species. It is common to see brown bears swimming, moose strutting, wood bison roaming, muskox playing, wolves posing, porcupines climbing, and more!

#15 Discover Eklutna Lake
Join this tour to get a veritable snack pack of activities all in one day. Start by taking a drive north of Anchorage to the vibrant turquoise waters of Eklutna Lake where you have the option to choose two of the four possible activities. Bike through the fall trees alongside the edge of the lake, kayak over the pristine glacier fed waters, hop on an atv for a serene yet thrilling ride, or hike either mild or wild level, staying in the low valley or charging up the Twin Peaks for panoramic views. All the while, learn about Alaska’s forests, glaciated valleys, and surrounding mountains from a skilled naturalist. Can’t decide today? No worries, decisions are made lakeside!

#16 Mountaintop View and Wildlife Too
Follow the Chugach Mountain range south of Anchorage down one of North America’s top 10 scenic highways while keeping an eye out for Dall sheep in the Chugach Mountains, Bald Eagles along the tidal flats and Beluga whales in the Cook Inlet. Enjoy a tour highlighting the Mt. Alyeska aerial tram, a tour of the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, and scenic photo stops along the way! From the top of the tram, take in views of several hanging glaciers and watch for the occasional black bear foraging in the upper reaches of this temperate rainforest. At the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, a 200-acre natural habitat that provides wildlife education and rehabilitation for some of Alaska’s favorite animals, we will drive and/or walk approximately 2-miles through the Conservation Center’s trails as you get close enough to observe fellow land animals such as moose, reindeer, bear, bison, musk ox, and wolves.
