RISE Car Park in Wichita: Not Your Ordinary Parking Garage!

The RISE Car Park in downtown Wichita is a place where retail start-up businesses evolve into unique shopping destinations, empowering the entrepreneurial spirit to soar to new heights. It’s a connecting point, activating a key piece of the city’s core and serving as a gateway to and from the riverfront, Wichita’s primary performing arts center, a burgeoning biomedical hub and the vibrant arena district. It’s a bold architectural statement punctuating the skyline with a clean, modern aesthetic… Oh, and a couple hundred bankers park their cars in it.

In 2019, our fourth generation, family-owned bank had a problem. We were growing fast, adding employees and running short on parking spaces. Instead of solving that problem by building a run-of-the mill parking garage, we decided this could be something that benefits more than just our people. We made plans for a five-story glass and steel building with four floors of secure employee parking and 17,000 square feet of street-level retail space to enliven our neighborhood and contribute to the progress being made downtown. And it would be powered by a rooftop solar farm!

In 2021, the dream became a reality. Since that time, we have worked with The Garages, a retail incubator program designed to launch local small businesses, to provide spaces for entrepreneurs to take their next major step. This included GROW, an elevated boutique plant shop, café and event space, and 2 Beatz Boutique, a size-inclusive fashion store for women.

RISE is also home to Lotte, a fine dining restaurant featuring seasonally-inspired, farm-to-table dishes. In 2024, Studios on Market joined the development bringing a collective of beauty professionals to the core of the city and offering each of them their own dedicated studio space.
