Our TBEX specialty workshops have been a big hit with attendees looking to dig deeper into a topic in a way that shorter sessions don’t allow. Longer sessions are perfect for skill building in areas of craft and technology, and we’re pleased to offer two terrific workshops for TBEX Europe 2016 in Stockholm
The workshops will be a fee-based add on to our traditional TBEX programming. The workshop fee is $300 and you must be registered for TBEX Europe 2016 to participate in one of the workshops. Workshop registration is non-refundable; transfers are permitted.
All workshops will be held at our conference venue, the Stockholm Waterfront Congress Centre, adjacent to the Radisson Blu hotel and across from Central Station. Workshops will be on July 13-14th, 2016, and run from 10 am-4 pm. The workshop instructor will be in touch with all participants regarding specific needs, to answer questions, and to help attendees best prepare and maximize their participation in the workshops.
Writing Workshop
Just sit down and write is great advice, but it’s a whole lot more difficult than it sounds. Where do you find the angle of your story? How do you take the bits of information and research you have, decide what to leave in and what to take out, and turn what’s left into a compelling story? How do you move your writing from personal journal to colorful story? Come learn from a master storyteller and editor in this writing workshop.
The writing workshop will be led by Spud Hilton. Spud is Travel Editor of The San Francisco Chronicle and SFChronicle.com. He is a 28-year journalist who has written about, reported on and been hopelessly lost on six continents. His section and his storytelling — from Havana’s back alleys to Kyoto’s shrines to the floor of a hippie bus in Modesto — have earned 11 SATW Lowell Thomas Awards. Spud has been featured on “Good Morning America,” “The Today Show,” Peter Greenberg’s Worldwide show for WCBS, Rudy Maxa’s World, and “Quest Means Business” on CNN International. He was the keynote speaker for the Hawaii Tourism Conference in 2015.

Podcasting and Audio Blogging Workshop
Whether you’re interested in starting a regularly scheduled podcast, want to incorporate audio blogging into your storytelling repertoire, or maybe you want to create an audio book, this workshop will help you learn how to do it. And, you’ll learn how to do it with tools that are easy to carry and use on the road. The workshop is structured around recording on the iPhone, but the tips and techniques are easily transferable to other technology. Come prepared with an idea, and leave with your first audio blog post or podcast episode.
The podcast and audio blogging workshop will be led by Shawn Smith. Shawn (The Mobile Pro) is the author of the ground-breaking ebook and video training course, “5 Ways to Record Podcast Interviews with an iPhone”. He’s spoken at many conferences as the leading authority on Mobile Podcasting. Since 1994, Shawn has flown over 850,000 miles as a musician, speaker, and mobile technology expert at TheMobilePro.net. Shawn and his wife have also hosted over 1,400 missionaries on their annual mission trips to Guatemala. Shawn is passionate about equipping, training, and inspiring entrepreneurs to create pro-quality content from anywhere in the world.
