Today they run a business as content creators for their social media channels, tourism boards and brands, as well as travel reporters and filmmakers for national magazines. Mike and Anne Howard left on their honeymoon in January 2012 and never came home. Using Anne’s background as a national magazine editor and Mike’s as a digital marketing executive and photographer, they created HoneyTrek to chronicle their journey through 60+ countries across all 7 continents and to help more people mobilize their travel dreams. Their story as the “world’s longest honeymooners,” savvy tips, and engaging blog have been acclaimed by Lonely Planet, USA Today, Condé Nast Traveler, Los Angeles Times, “CBS This Morning,” plus a TV commercial for Microsoft Windows. Firm believers that love and travel make the world a better place, they continue to spread their message and know-how as Smithsonian speakers and National Geographic authors of “Ultimate Journeys for Two”. To write their newest book, they bought a vintage camper to explore North America in search of the continent’s best glamping experiences. Nine countries and 73,000 miles later, they’ve just released “Comfortably Wild”, the first-ever book on the topic. As digital nomads and travel journalists, the Howards are always on the hunt for off-the-track destinations, uncommon adventures, and the human stories that make each place special.
