It’s always a fun day when I get to make speaker announcements. We’re assembling a great line up of speakers from around the world to present at TBEX Asia Pacific 2016. You’ll see some new names along with familiar ones, and their full bios and session descriptions will be up on the website soon.
In case you missed it, we’ve already made a keynote announcement and announced speakers for our workshops. There are a few spots left in the workshops, so if you’re interested check them out and sign up right away.
Ajay is a photo educator and tour leader from India. He is the winner of several international photo awards and has been a jurist for contests sponsored by Canon. His work appears online as well as in print magazines.
Ajay will be speaking in the Content track on How to Improve Your Architecture Photos.
Betsy and Pete Wuebker
Betsy and Pete have been digital entrepreneurs since 2008, when the sold it all, moved to a tropical island and then turned to full time travel. They began their journey to independence from traditional work via online stores which use Print On Demand platforms. Now in their sixth year of location independence, Betsy and Pete look forward to sharing what they know with others who aspire to supplement their blog income with this type of revenue stream.
Betsy and Pete will be speaking in the Commerce track about how to build successful online stores using print on demand.
Bill is an award-winning writer with credits that include National Geographic Traveler, Frommer’s, the San Francisco Chronicle, Oprah Magazine, BBC, Yahoo, CNN and even Manila’s Expat Magazine. His honors include SATW’s Lowell Thomas Gold Award and multiple Travelers Tales “Best Travel Writing.” He spent two years as a PR Manager for the Japan National Tourist Organization (JNTO), and lived in Manila for a year doing Asia market analysis for IBM.
Bill will speaking in the Content track on Trendspotting: How to Craft the Right Story at the Right Time.
Cailin is an award winning travel video blogger and social media influencer who has been running TravelYourself.ca for the past seven years. With a Major in Film and a background working in the Film and TV Industry, Snapchat is a natural fit for sharing her daily life, creative stories, and travels around the world to 47 countries and counting.
Cailin will be speaking in the Content track about creating content for Snapchat.
Chris is the host of the Amateur Traveler, an award winning online travel show that focuses primarily on travel destinations. It includes a weekly audio podcast, a video podcast, and a blog. In 2015, Chris won a Lowell Thomas Award for Travel Journalism from the Society of American Travel Writers and was called the “Best Independent Travel Journalist” by Travel & Leisure Magazine in their annual SMITTY Awards.
Chris will be speaking in the Commerce track about using affiliate marketing in your blogging activities.
Eden is a social media and online branding strategist with a passion for Facebook. She loves infusing others with her passion for the power of social media in the business, branding and marketing space. Since 2009 Eden has helped hundreds of businesses and independent professionals maximize their activities and presence on Facebook. In 2013 Eden and her husband Denny began traveling full time, while developing social media courses.
Eden will be speaking in the Community track about Facebook.
Gary is an awarding winning blogger and travel photographer who has been traveling around the world since 2007. In 2010 Time Magazine named it one of the Top 25 Blogs on the Internet. He is one of the most awarded travel photographers of this decade. He was named the 2014 SATW Travel Photographer of the Year as well as the 2013 and 2015 NATJA Travel Photographer of the Year.
Gary will be speaking in the Community Track about Authority and Social Proof.
Michael started out in the travel industry as a travel publisher with Backpacker, Abroad and Irish Business Traveller magazines. In 2006 he started TravelMedia.ie, a specialist digital travel PR and trade representation company, working with airlines, tour operators, travel agents, hoteliers and tourist boards, assisting them with all their travel media needs, from media buying, social media, PR, SEO and strategy.
Michael will be speaking in the Industry track about How to Trend on Twitter.
Mike is a professional travel video blogger and publisher of MikesRoadTrip.com, a travel blog he has published for over six years. Mike has worked with the Travel Channel, USA Today, Yahoo Travel and is a Travelocity Gnational Gnomad. He also has his own ROKU Channel and his videos will be distributed on DirecTV and other cable outlets at the end of the year as the industry rolls out a new streaming technology.
Mike will be speaking in the Commerce track about How to Make a Living as a Video Travel Blogger.
Sara is Managing Director at top independently owned U.S.-based advertising agency, BVK. She leads the agency’s Earned Media teams, including public relations, social media, experiential marketing and promotions offerings, as well as the agency’s Content Studio. Sara has been recognized in the American Business Journals’ Forty under 40, and is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
Sara will be speaking in the Industry track on Does Your Brand’s Content Inspire Travel Dreams.
Shane “The Travel Camel” Dallas is an avid adventurer who inspires people to take the road less traveled. Shane is very active on Social Media, particularly Google+ where his photographic Collections receive millions of views every month. He is also a founder of #TRLT – the Road Less Travelled Twitter Chat – the largest travel Twitter chat based outside of North America. Shane presents his travel tales and tips on different radio networks across the world, and he uses his 25 years of public speaking experience on the travel, Social Media and cruise ship speaking circuits.
Tammilee has been a professional blogger for over eight years, writing travel, food and life along with her Park Ranger Husband John. She started blogging after leaving a corporate risk management job for the real world of traveling. Tammilee has a MBA and utilizes her business knowledge daily with her blogging company.
Tammilee will be speaking in the Community track in a session for TBEX First Timers.
Tim is an award-winning writer who has been blogging continuously since 2003 with his Cheapest Destinations blog. He has published the narrative online magazine Perceptive Travel since 2006. He is the author of the books A Better Life for Half the Price, The World’s Cheapest Destinations, and Travel Writing 2.0: Earning money from your travels in the new media landscape (now in its 2nd edition).
Tim will be speaking in the Commerce track on Accomplishing Great Things: Productivity Tips and Tricks for Bloggers.
Tom is an Assistant Professor in the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Ryerson University in Toronto. His research interests revolve around Visiting Friends and Relatives (VFR) travel and how residents play a role in bringing tourists to their destination, and the impacts on them as individuals and their communities more broadly. He has worked on various tourism projects in the UK, Australia, and Canada.
Tom will be speaking in the Industry track about Visiting Friends and Relatives tourism.
