Our first announcement of TBEX Europe 2022 Speakers is a collection of 12 highly skilled professionals who will provide travel media – including tourism brands, content creators, influencers and vloggers – with constructive information, tools, and innovative strategies for success in the current travel and tourism space. TBEX’s 22nd travel bloggers conference in Marbella, Spain will also provide a wealth of information for industry travel and tourism providers on how to develop an effective online presence and work effectively with content creators.

Opening Keynote Address by Eulanda and Omo Osagiede

Eulanda & Omo Osagiede are the co-founders of Hey! Dip Your Toes In; an award-winning blog which promotes creative digital content with a focus on global travel and food culture.

Using their skills in content creation and brand consulting, they have helped travel and food culture brands like IBM, Coca-Cola, McCain, Global Food Tourism Association, Cruise Line International Association, Choose Chicago, and Etihad Airways to tell their stories and create compelling digital content which has improved their marketing objectives and visibility within their niche areas.

Their work has been featured in Lonely Planet, Forbes, House of Coco magazine, Blogosphere magazine, VOYAGE, Griot Republic, Cheap-O-Air, and other publications.

Their authoritative voice on diversity and inclusion, food tourism, and influencer marketing has led to them being sought out as workshop facilitators, brand ambassadors, and guest speakers at events around the world like TEDx, GFTC, TFM, TBEX, WITS, Traverse, Hotelympia, and WTM London.

Omo and Eulanda will deliver an opening keynote about diversity in the travel industry.

Alastair McKenzie is a digital travel journalist/blogger with one foot in traditional media and the other in social media. Originally a national & international radio travel presenter, he then moved online and has become an active member of the travel blogger & social media community, speaking regularly at social travel conferences, events and trade shows. He is the British Guild of Travel Writers’ representative in the BGTW-ASTW-SATW alliance, and writes a niche blog, Mechtraveller.com.

Mansoureh Farahani is a versatile professional with more than 16 years of experience in journalism, media, creative writing, content creation and digital marketing working for TVs and other online media. She also shares her passion for tourism and travel on her travel blog and YouTube channel: Travel With Mansoureh. Mansoureh is from Iran, with a master degree in Tourism obtained in the UK, where she has lived for the past 8 years.

Alistair, Mansoureh and Mark will share their thoughts in a keynote about earning the trust of your audience.

Mark Baker

Mark Baker was a working journalist for years (including editor and correspondent of The Economist Group, business editor of The Prague Post, editor and correspondent of Bloomberg News and deputy managing editor of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty) before making the leap to travel writing in 2006. Since then, he’s authored 30 guidebooks and dozens of travel articles on Central Europe. He brings a journalist’s eye to the blogging community, and thinks too many bloggers simply don’t know enough about the destinations they cover. His presentation is aimed at helping writers on the ground quickly to amass the critical knowledge they need to write credible, informative posts.

Mark will deliver a session thinking about five attributes for successful travel writing after COVID-19.

Carol Hay has over 25 years in the tourism sector, her primary areas of expertise include marketing, destination branding, product development, sustainable tourism development, public relations, crisis management, innovation, strategy, culture & heritage and social media. Carol Hay is the CEO of McKenzie Gayle Limited, a tourism marketing and development agency, representing the Caribbean Tourism Organisation UK & Europe (CTO Chapter). Up until 2019, Carol served as Director of Marketing UK & Europe for the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) for more than a decade. This role followed a fruitful stint as Director of Marketing UK & Europe for the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority.

Carol is also a strong advocate for equality, diversity and inclusion throughout the tourism industry and is regularly called upon to share her thoughts on the global stage. She recently completed the Climate Change Reality Leadership programme with an aim to working with destinations to address the impact of climate change on cultural and heritage tourism. She holds a Masters Degree in Marketing, Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and numerous professional qualifications including Cultural Diplomacy, Public Relations, Human Resources Development, Sustainable Tourism Development, Coaching, Mentoring and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP).

With her rich experience in the global tourism sector, Carol Hay has directed multi-national marketing portfolios spanning destination branding, product development and sustainable tourism development.

Carol will share her knowledge on how to use culture and heritage to differentiate destinations.

Sante J Achille lives and works in Italy out of L’Aquila, a small medieval town close to Rome. He has an engineering degree, has worked for major aerospace organizations including the European Space Agency (Noordwijk – Netherlands), and has been working on the web since the very beginning of the commercial World Wide Web in 1994.

With over 25 years of hands on experience in the digital marketing arena, Sante has reviewed and optimized hundreds of websites and successfully cooperated with small local companies and large multi-national corporations in the definition of their digital strategies, offering a wide spectrum of expertise essential to the success of a project. Sante is a seasoned bi-lingual web marketing consultant with staff offering services in organic placement and search advertising.

Sante regularly attends and speaks at search marketing conferences in Europe and teaches SEO and web technology related courses. Sante is the Majestic Brand Ambassador to Italy, and has been Conference Chair at SMXL Milan in 2016-2017-2018 and stepped down in 2019. He has spoken at TBEX North America 2019 on the use of Structured Data for Travel and Tourism.

Sante will share his knowledge on the Google Search Console.

Catharina Fischer is one of the leading experts in influencer marketing and a digital leader with over 10 years of experience in tourism. Before she was Head of Social Media at the German National Tourist Board (GNTB) she was in various marketing positions in the tourism industry. At the GNTB she implemented the international Social Media Strategy in over 12 markets & created in 2013 the first international influencer campaign for Germany. Since 2015 she is working for the consulting network Tourismuszukunft. Here she supports destinations, hotels and tour operators mainly in DACH countries with their digital marketing. In 2016 she initiated the industry think tank ‘Change4Destination’ who is dealing with the question of the ‘future of public destination marketing’. The think tank white paper became a must-read in the German speaking markets. Furthermore she created the VideoSummit – the leading conference for video in tourism with top videographers and video bloggers from all over the world. 

Catharina will talk about the future of Content Marketing.

Fiona Anderson has enjoyed a twenty-year PR career, spanning corporate, lifestyle and travel spheres. Fiona’s client experience includes Conrad, Kimpton and Hilton hotels, and PR for travel disruptors and destinations as diverse as Click&Boat, India, the Philippines, the Maldives, Jamaica, Kyoto in Japan and Breckenridge, Colorado. From co-ordinating regional roadshows for India Tourism, to running high profile PR events for the Philippines at World Travel Market, Fiona’s extensive strategic experience ensures the execution of all activity is carried out seamlessly, creatively, to schedule and as agreed. Fiona is also Chair of the UK Tourism Society’s PR Steering Group.

Fiona will discuss how to grow your travel brand through diverse marketing.

Rachel Heller is a blogger and teacher-trainer living in Groningen, the Netherlands. Raised in the US and educated at Yale, she met her Dutch husband when she served in the Peace Corps in Malawi. With two grown kids, they have entered the “empty nest” phase of their lives, leaving more time for independent travel. Rachel’s blog, Rachel’s Ruminations, looks at independent travel with a focus on individual historical and cultural sites/sights.

Shobha George is a travel writer and former corporate lawyer. An American expat living in London, England, she travels as much as her family schedule allows. Her primary website, Just Go Places, provides travel inspiration and guidance for families who enjoy independent travel of all kinds with their children. The site’s ethos encourages families to travel in order to give their children first-hand experience of the world, peoples and cultures.

Rachel and Shobha will discuss how to promote responsible tourism in content creation.
