And TBEX Europe 2017 will show travel brands how to develop an effective online presence.
Here is the Third Round of Speakers for TBEX Europe 2017
Yaya Griffiths and Lloyd Griffiths are from the Hand Luggage Only travel blog. They are two guys that love to travel and decided to write about this one day (without ever looking back). They wanted to connect with fellow travellers across the world – a want which led to creating Hand Luggage Only – their travel, food and photography blog with over a million hits every month.
Yaya and Lloyd will join a panel discussing how to build website traffic.
Henry Arvidsson was a UN peacekeeper in Southern Lebanon during 1988-89. During this time he photographed wherever he could. This led him to study Photojournalism at the prestigious International Center of Photography in New York City with some of the world’s greatest photo journalists he graduated and secured a job as official photographer during the UN weapons inspections in Iraq (1991-96). He also worked at the Chemical Weapons disarmament for another dozen years (1997-2009) based in Europe. Since 2010 Henry is back in professional photography producing (travel) stories and panoramic (360) virtual tours, expanded with a blog since 2014.
Henry will share his knowledge on 360 degree photography.
Janet Newenham is an award-winning travel blogger from Cork, Ireland. She has been travelling the world for close to 10 years, and blogging for much of that. She comes from a background of Journalism and PR, and likes to leverage the two when building her travel blogging empire. Janet’s blog, Journalist On The Run, covers her solo adventures around the world.
Janet will share how to leverage your blog to get paid by travel brands.
Veruska Anconitano is a Dublin based, food and travel writer who was born in Italy. Versa decided to start LCS Kitchen, her food and travel blog in 2010, when she moved to Ireland. Since then, she has worked with brands, companies, tourism boards and magazines. The connection between food and travel is the thing that interests her the most and it allows her to travel a lot to discover food, small local experiences and things “normal” tourists don’t even know they exist.
Veruska will demonstrate how to brand a destination using the power of food and drink.
Yeison Kim holds a degree in business administration and more than ten years of tourism experience in both the field and in the office. He has mixed his passions for travel, technology and business to become his day job. After several years working the typical Costa Rican job with minimal salary, Yeison decided to create the travel blog Mytanfeet with Samantha Wei to become their full time job. In addition to the travel blog, he also does internet marketing, consultations and videography.
Samantha Wei is a photographer, content marketer and co-founder of Mytanfeet, one of the leading travel blogs on Costa Rica. Originally from Washington state, she moved to Costa Rica in 2012 and has been exploring every corner of the country with her Costa Rican partner, Yeison Wei.
Yeison and Samantha will show how affiliate marketing can turn your blog into a business.
Scott Herder is a travel photographer/blogger specializing in timelapse and hyperlapse photography. He travels full time and writes for the blog boboandchichi, as well as giving presentations on numerous different styles of photography.
Scott will explain how to shoot a Hyper-Lapse using your Smartphone.
Kerwin McKenzie is an ex-airline employee who travels on average over 250,000 miles a year. He writes up-to-date airport, destination and ground transportation guides plus airline flight and hotel reviews with a mission to motivate airline employees to use their travel benefits at Passrider.com. He’s flown over 160 airlines and visited 114 countries and teaches travelers how to be loyal to travel brands at Cruisinaltitude.com. Kerwin recently launched a new Web site, Unfamiliar Destinations, which highlights one new destination everyday for a full year.
Kerwin will share his knowledge on how to pitch to airlines.
Cillian Murphy co-founded Loop Head Tourism in 2009 to ensure that tourism development of the Loop Head Peninsula would take place in a responsible manner with the full backing of the local community. Under his leadership the peninsula has won many awards for the manner in which it has developed. Cillian has spoken on the importance of community involvement in tourism development many times including at the World Travel Market in London, at The World Bank Group Tourism Forum in Washington, The Heritage Council of Ireland and the Cross Border Tourism Conference in Carlingford.
Cillian will explain why tourism is a tool for community sustainability.
Leslie Walker enjoyed a 20+ year career in all facets of hospitality. Working her way up through the ranks as front desk associate, then planning meetings and conventions as Sales Manager and Director of Sales, finally serving as General Manager, all within the lodging industry. As a Logistics Planner for a Huntsville-based software company, Leslie organized national and international conferences. Leslie joined the Huntsville/Madison County Convention & Visitors Bureau in 2012, where she now works with Association, Cyber Security, Multi-cultural and Social Media-based convention markets and is a regular contributor to the iHeartHsv.com blog.
Leslie will share her experiences on how travel brands can effectively share their story.
Ernest White II is a storyteller, explorer, and proponent of reasonable recklessness who has circumnavigated the globe four times. His writing includes fiction, literary essay, and travel narrative, having been featured in Time Out London, USA Today, Ebony, National Geographic Traveler’s Brazil and Bradt’s Tajikistan guidebooks, and at TravelChannel.com. Ernest is the creator of multicultural travel portal Fly Brother, a contributing writer at literary travel journal Panorama, a former assistant editor at Time Out São Paulo, and founding editor of the digital men’s magazine, Abernathy. A Florida native, Ernest’s obsessions include Indian curry, the city of São Paulo, and Rita Hayworth.

Laura Lynch worked as a professional website consultant for 15 years before creating her travel brand, Savored Journeys in 2014. She has now expanded her business to include online publications, SEO and blog monetization consulting.
Gemma Armit is the lens and fingers behind the travel blog Two Scots Abroad. After travelling around and blogging about the Americas and Europe on a 17-month career break, it took returning to full time work with limited time for blogging for her website to really kick off. The secret? SEO. Through keyword research, on page optimisation and backlinks, Two Scots Abroad has tripled in page views – a testimony to the power of SEO.
Laura and Gemma will share their proven SEO strategy.
Jan Petersen has enjoyed a 20+ year career in copywriting, editing and administration in print media. She moved into the digital mediaplace in 2011. Jan has since contracted with numerous travel, lifestyle and wellness publications for copy editing, WordPress administration, and advertorial marketing. She is currently the blog and digital content administrator for TBEX Events.
Jan will explain the TBEX concept and the professional opportunities available to first-time attendees.
