The B Reactor National Historic Landmark is the world’s first full-scale plutonium production reactor and part of the Manhattan Project National Historical Park. TBEX attendees are invited to sign up for a tour and learn more about the people, events, science, and engineering that led to the creation of the atomic bombs that helped bring an end to World War II. Tours are hosted by the U.S. Department of Energy and Central Plateau Cleanup Company (CPCCo).
The tour begins at 8:00 a.m. with an introduction at the Manhattan Project Visitor Center located at 2000 Logston Blvd., Richland 99354. From there, you will ride the bus to the B Reactor with interpretation along the way. Tour lasts approximately 4 hours including transportation to and from B Reactor.
Transportation to and from the Manhattan Project Visitor Center will be provided on Friday morning only. Busses will pick up at the Three Rivers Convention Center at 7:30 a.m. and return to the Convention Center at the conclusion of the tour. For those that have signed up for the Prosser Tour, a separate bus will arrive to take you directly to Prosser.
Transportation will not be provided to the Manhattan Project Visitor Center on Saturday. Participants will need to make their own arrangements for transportation to 2000 Logston Blvd., Richland.
