Caution:  Elephant Crossing – the Toyota Elephant Passage at the Denver Zoo

Denver will be synonymous with pachyderms on June 1, 2012 with the opening of the Denver Zoo’s new $50 million Toyota Elephant Passage – the largest bull elephant habitat in the world.  Elephants, rhinos and tapirs will travel across a series of bridges and crossings – above, over and through visitors – in one of the most ingeniously designed zoo exhibits ever – and all 10 acres will be powered by elephant poop and other trash through an amazing new gasification process invented at the Zoo.  www.denverzoo.org

The Wild Animal Sanctuary – 290 Lions and Tigers and Bears…Oh My!

Roxborough State Park and its Dynamic Red Rock Formations

This little known gem of a state park has 400-foot high red rock outcroppings from the same rock formation that makes up Red Rocks and Garden of the Gods. Red Rocks Amphitheatre & Visitors Center

Colorado State Capitol
