Updated Itinerary Information for TBEX Europe 2015 Blogger Trips

Invitations have been sent out to all participants of the TBEX Europe 2015 FAM/Blogger trips.

If you applied for a FAM/Blogger trip, and didn’t receive an invitation, please do the following:  First, check your spam and inbox to make sure it didn’t get buried or sent to spam. The email was sent from Mary Jo with a subject line of Invitation. You can use that to search your archives as well. If you still don’t have an invitation email, please contact Mary Jo via email and we’ll look into it.

Later this week, we will post information about trips that have remaining spots available, and will re-open the application process. Not all trips will be available during this second round of applications, some are full, but there is still a good selection to choose from. If you missed out on the opportunity in the first round, or recently registered for TBEX, this will be your opportunity to take advantage of these opportunities to stay on in Costa Brava.

And a special trip will be added – a family trip. This FAM/blog trip is designed for those attendees traveling with kids, and will include activities, sightseeing, and a pace suitable for families traveling together. Our hosts are putting the final touches on that trip, so stay tuned for details.

In the chart below you will find details of the start and return location of all the trips.  All trips start in Lloret de Mar, on May 4th.  The trips end in either Girona or Barcelona, on various dates. Times are listed as well. This should help you complete your travel planning.

  1. If we desire to stay in Barcelona after the FAM trip is it absolutely necessary we return to Lloret de Mar? Will we be able to take our luggage to Barcelona on May 4th?

Another issue is I only booked my room through May 3rd and thought we would be going to Barcelona May 3rd. I am not trying to be a jerk, but this sounds inconvenient, unless you plan on staying in Costa Brava for an extended period.

    • Mary Jo Manzanares says:

The start and return dates for each of the trips have been coordinated with our hosts and their partners, and represents what best allows them to present a quality trip and experience. Since the FAM trips start on the 4th, it does require an additional night in Lloret de Mar, and that information was set out in the application process. It does give participants a chance to rest up after the hectic pace of the TBEX program and professional development sessions, being fully ready to participate in the programs put together by our hosts.

  2. Forget the first paragraph. I reread and it’s obvious we do not have to return to Lloret de Mar. The second paragraph is still a valid concern I believe.

  3. Hello Mary Jo & Co,
I am still keeping a lookout for applying for FAM trips in the “second round.” Am I missing that information? Also, do we sign up for tracks once in Lloret del Mar or is there a pre-registration?
    Thank you!
    Aysha

    • Mary Jo Manzanares says:

I’m working on getting the second round ready right now and am hoping that I’ll have them ready to go later today. There’s no need to sign up for any session or track. You are welcome to mix and match the type of professional development sessions that interest you.

  4. Hi Mary Jo, did I miss the Fam trips “second round” ? Thanks.

    • Mary Jo Manzanares says:

Hi Bettina – No, you didn’t miss it. It just took much longer than anticipated to verify with the various parties how many invitations have been confirmed and how many places are available. I think we have that all figured out know and will get the form updated and ready to open again. Maybe another day or two to get everything done and proofed.

  5. Hi,

We are going to be able to get all our luggage on the Fam trips, right? But we won’t be asked to carry our luggage all day during the trip, I hope they will take care of that (maybe when we check in on some hotels or wherever we are going to sleep)?

    Best,
    Maria

    • Mary Jo Manzanares says:

Yes, you will be able to take your luggage with you and you will be able to keep in on the bus/van or at the hotel. You aren’t going to have to personally carry it around all day.
