Cara Parks is the editor-at-large for Roads & Kingdoms. She is the former executive editor of Modern Farmer Magazine and deputy managing editor of Foreign Policy. She’s also lived in Barcelona, Paris, Lisbon, and a few other places where the food wasn’t as good. Cara has taught as an adjunct professor at the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism. In a former life, she was a line cook in Portland, Oregon and a baker on the Lower East Side.
Ernest White II is a storyteller, explorer, and proponent of reasonable recklessness who has circumnavigated the globe five times. He is the producer and host of global reality-travel television series Fly Brother, host of The Fly Brother Radio Show, and publisher of multicultural travel magazine Fly. Ernest’s writing includes fiction and travel narrative, having been featured in Time Out London, USA Today, Getaway, The Manifest-Station, Sinking City, Lakeview Journal, Bradt’s Tajikistan guidebook, and at TravelChannel.com. He is also nonfiction editor at literary travel journal Panorama. A Florida native, Ernest’s obsessions include Indian curry, São Paulo, and Rita Hayworth.
Jessica Festa is a native New Yorker and owner of the solo female and offbeat travel blog, Jessie on a Journey as well as the online responsible tourism and culture magazine, Epicure & Culture. Since 2014, she’s been teaching online blogging courses to travelers wanting to make their dreams of location independence a reality. When not galavanting around the globe, you can find her leading photo tours in New York, taking yoga and hip hop classes, and sipping her way through the local cocktail scene.
Alyssa Ramos of My Life’s a Travel Movie, is highly distinguished solo travel brands, with over 200,000 followers across all of her platforms. She makes a full time living from her blog and social media, has traveled solo to over 70 countries, and has appeared on major press outlets such as Forbes, Entrepreneur, Lonely Planet, Inside Edition, and Huffington Post. Alyssa has spoken at several travel conferences worldwide, and co-hosts an annual Blogger Bootcamp teaching aspiring blogger/influencers how to become successful.
Kulin Strimbu is is a digital content management, media, and marketing veteran that brings over 26 years of executive, sales, media, marketing, and technology experience to her role as CEO of the Rich Media Exchange and TripWriters.com. Kulin is an expert in the use of rich media to more effectively market products and services in the travel and destination management arenas. Tackling the complex combination of technology, emotional engagement, and data science, she has established the first rich media hosting, management, and delivery portal solution. Her solution assists travel bloggers with distribution, syndication, social media, mobile, video production and delivery.
Heather Johnson has been blogging for nearly ten years, but she also rides the other side of the fence. Her day job is in marketing for a word-of-mouth advertising agency. By day she hires bloggers; by night she is one. There are plenty of times she wouldn’t even hire herself. Heather brings 20 years of marketing experience to TBEX and has generated over $500K in revenue for her companies by working with paid influencers.
Max Hartshorne is the editor of GoNOMAD Travel, publishing a new travel article every day and in addition to creating the company’s line of more than 25 travel ebooks. But Max’s biggest accomplishment is helping travel writers learn their craft and become better writers. Through more than 16 years, he has learned a lot about publishing, sustaining, and blogging, and remains very proud of the stories published by GoNOMAD Travel and the writers they nurture.
Michael Huxley is a published author, professional adventurer and founder of the travel website Bemused Backpacker. He has been featured in some of the worlds largest print and TV media including The BBC, The Guardian, USA Today, and many more. He is also a charge nurse by vocation with an interest in emergency nursing and travel medicine, but his real passion is independent travel and adventure and has been travelling the world on his own terms for 15 years.
Sherry Ott is a long term traveler, blogger, and photographer with one goal in mind – to make you wish you were somewhere else. She has written about her worldly solo adventures on Ottsworld.com and social media channels since 2006. She lived in Vietnam, hiked the Annapurna Circuit with her father, drove 10,000 miles from London to Mongolia, walked the Camino de Santiago, kayaked in Antarctica, and drove a auto rickshaw across India for charity. Sherry inspires people to travel by seeking out epic adventures to intriguing places off the tourist trails.
Kerwin McKenzie is an ex-airline employee who travels on average over 250,000 miles a year. He writes up-to-date airport, destination and ground transportation guides plus airline flight and hotel reviews with a mission to motivate airline employees to use their travel benefits at Passrider.com. He’s flown 172 airlines and visited 121countries/territories and teaches travelers how to be loyal to travel brands at www.Cruisinaltitude.com. He recently launched a new website, Unfamiliar Destinations.
Vicki Winters is a travel blogger, travel agent and brand ambassador who also moonlights as an actor. She has always loved learning and creating, and started her first blog, The Vicki Winters Show, in 2012. Vicki has worked on Social Media Scavenger Hunts with Ama Waterways and is most proud to be a part of Allianz’s Brand Ambassador team. She recently transitioned her blogging into the travel agency profession with her newest blog, Bucket List Travelers.
