All of the must-see attractions located in Jerusalem’s Old City and in the New City are within convenient walking distance from David Citadel, one of Jerusalem’s landmark hotels. In addition to its location, David Citadel is indisputably one of the finest hotels in Israel, counting heads of state and VIPs among its regular guests. The hotel was recently awarded one of the ‘Top 10 World’s Best Hotels – Africa and the Middle East 2015″ by Travel & Leisure, among numerous other honors. David Citadel’s new Manager, Adi Nevo, operates the hotel according to his belief that the entire team should have an innkeeper’s attitude. “The innkeeper takes pride in his establishment and takes an essential part in providing service. Likewise, the team’s main role is to take care of the guests and to create a great experience for them,” Nevo asserts.
Originally designed by Moshe Safdie, the 11-story David Citadel hotel is horseshoe-shaped, with balconies looking out directly onto the Old City. A series of terraces accommodate a glass-domed lobby, dining area, swimming pool and hanging gardens. David Citadel’s well-planned public spaces and 385 luxuriously appointed rooms and suites have recently received a full renovation by renowned Italian designer Piero Lissoni, who introduced the warm atmosphere of Jerusalem through natural lighting, traditional colors, and artwork created by David Roberts during his 1834 Grand Tour. Lissoni’s vision included oak parquet flooring, abundant greenery, soft lights and textured fabrics in a palette of rich colors that create a welcoming atmosphere. The grand halls, public areas and rooms, including 41 suites and 7 grand suites, are designed to match every need and make every stay a truly unforgettable and luxurious experience.
Pampering the Guests
David Citadel offers its guests a range of excellent dining options. The Seasons Restaurant is known for its rich Mediterranean-style breakfast buffet and for its multi-course Shabbat and holiday meals. The Lobby Lounge offers a light dairy menu and panoramic views of the Old City; and the Pool Grill Bar, serves a wide range of meat dishes, snacks, beverages, and cool refreshments during the summer.
The Gym features state of the art fitness equipment and aerobics classes in a serene setting overlooking the hotel’s pool and the Old City walls. The Spa, designed according to Feng Shui principles, is equipped with wet and dry saunas, 10 treatment rooms, holistic therapies and a wide range of spa treatments. The outdoor swimming pool, which was designed so that swimmers can enjoy the light-suffused reflections from the surrounding Jerusalem stone, is open daily and is heated so guests can enjoy year-round swimming under the watchful eye of an experienced lifeguard.
Families with children will also appreciate the hotel’s new 100 sq.m. Children’s Play Center, with its whimsical, fun design, guaranteed to keep kids entertained for hours.
The David Citadel Hotel’s elegant, multi-functional banquet rooms ensure the success of every event. The Ballroom is suitable for conferences, exhibitions or large family occasions of up to 420 guests.
Bar or Bat Mitzvah ceremonies frequently begin at the Western Wall and continue in the hotel’s Grand Ballroom with its hand-painted Moroccan ceiling.
Wedding ceremonies often take place under the stars at the poolside overlooking the illuminated ancient walls of the Old City.
With exquisite cuisine from our award-winning chef, a full menu of luxurious amenities and beautifully re-designed rooms, The David Citadel Hotel remains the finest in Jerusalem Hotels, and looks ever forward to offering exceptional hospitality to guests of TBEX International 2017 in March.
