Sienna Spencer – Markles is a Southern California native with extensive experience in the tourism, hospitality and entertainment industries, Sienna Spencer-Markles is the ultimate “people person” whose personal warmth and enthusiasm for a good story form the backdrop of her success as a public relations professional.
Her media relationships are myriad and deep, and her pitches are on point and to the point, ensuring her emails and phone calls always get answered. Likewise, she is an invaluable resource to clients, bringing logistical acumen, tireless enthusiasm and an innate sensitivity to potential issues to every client program and interaction. She regularly develops and hosts media FAMs for multi-stakeholder travel destinations, represents clients at events, creates press materials and coordinates media missions – all with a focus on client needs and big-picture goals.
Sienna’s passion for food, wine, travel, photography and media is a consistent theme in her personal life as well as her professional work. As a one-time journalist, she loves integrating traditional media relations with new social media tools that make it possible to tell the client’s authentic story from beginning to end.
Prior to her position with McCue Communications, Sienna was a Segment Producer on the popular public radio show “Good Food” with host Evan Kleiman, which airs on the Los Angeles NPR station, KCRW. Working in the exploding world of food writing, she became one of the first regular columnists for Edible Los Angeles Magazine, a national magazine highlighting the sustainable food movement.
Sienna is also a graduate of The New School of Cooking, where she worked as a chef in some of L.A.’s top restaurants before launching into private catering, teaching cooking and producing food and wine events.
She holds a BA in Critical Studies & Writing from California State University, Los Angeles and currently lives in Century City, Los Angeles.
