The company was formed in 1989 – initially under the name “Tourismus-Zentrale Hamburg GmbH” – and renamed “Hamburg Tourismus GmbH” in 2002. Its shareholders are Hamburg Marketing GmbH (51%), the Hamburg Tourism Association (29%), DEHOGA Hamburg e.V. (10%) and the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce (10%).
