Gulf Shores & Orange Beach Tourism serves as the official destination marketing organization for the areas of Gulf Shores, Orange Beach and Fort Morgan on Alabama’s Gulf Coast.
The destination is home to 32 miles of sugar-white sand beaches stretching along a 27,000-acre island on the northernmost coast of the Gulf of Mexico. The family-friendly destination, located in Baldwin County, welcomed 5.7 million visitors in 2014.
From zip lines and waterparks to golf courses and fishing charters, there’s something for everyone to enjoy on Alabama’s beaches. Nature enthusiasts enjoy miles of walking and biking trails, dolphin cruises, diving or snorkeling trips. History buffs can explore the area’s rich history at historic Fort Morgan and the local museums. For shoppers seeking the perfect souvenir, the island’s many boutiques, souvenir and specialty shops are perfect for treasure hunting. The area is also home to several renowned festivals and events including The Wharf Boat & Yacht Show, nationally-acclaimed Hangout Music Festival, the Annual National Shrimp Festival and the Frank Brown International Songwriters’ Festival. New to the area this year is the World Food Championship where 450 chefs from 45 states and 20 countries compete in the ultimate chef throwdown.
Fresh Gulf seafood is king of the dining scene in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. Most restaurants feature local seafood on their menus along with other dishes created from locally-sourced produce and meats. The area also has a wide selection of lodging choices from beachfront condos and national hotel chains to private beach houses and full-service resorts.
