Vasa is the world’s only surviving 17th-century ship. With over 98 percent of its original parts preserved, and ornamented with hundreds of carved sculptures, Vasa is a unique art treasure and one of the foremost tourist sights in the world. The 69 meter-long warship Vasa sank on its maiden voyage in the middle of Stockholm in 1628, and was salvaged 333 years later. For nearly half a century the ship has been slowly, deliberately and painstakingly restored to a state approaching its original glory. The three masts on the roof outside the purpose-built museum show the height of the ship's original masts. Today the Vasa Museum is the most visited museum in Scandinavia, with over 1,3 million visitors a year. At this very moment, ranked as number 9 of the World’s Top Museums on TripAdvisor. The museums ranked as number 1-8 are all art museums which means we are the number 1 of our kind! There are eleven different exhibitions around the ship that tell about the life on board the ship, the symbolism of the sculptures, the country of Sweden in 1628, the people who followed the ship down into the deep, the salvaging in the 1960’s, the efforts to preserve the ship for the future and much more. The film about Vasa is shown in different languages and tours of the museum take place every day. In addition there is a well-stocked shop and a high-class restaurant.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) was established on the 18th March 1960. TAT was the first organization in Thailand to be specifically responsible for the promotion of tourism.
